Capnography

The Life-Saving Cost-Effective Choice for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers

Save Lives. Reduce Expenses.

By providing staff with the skills and knowledge necessary to use capnography effectively, hospitals can help prevent adverse events, provide earlier diagnoses, and reduce hospital stays, resulting in significant cost savings.

For large hospitals, the potential annual marginal loss due to sepsis can be as much as $34 million.

For large hospitals, the potential annual marginal loss due to sepsis can be as much as $34 million, a significant expense associated with preventable adverse events, delayed diagnoses, and prolonged hospital stays. Implementing a Capnography training program helps hospitals avoid these costs and reduces the need for more costly interventions such as mechanical ventilation or admission to the intensive care unit.

Trusted by Healthcare Providers

Capnography is a non-invasive method of monitoring a patient’s respiratory status and measuring the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in a patient’s respirations, used by hospital staff and on-scene first responders across the country.

"Something didn't seem quite right..."

Capnography provides valuable information about a patient’s breathing patterns and can detect changes in their CO2 levels that may indicate respiratory distress.

By measuring the amount of CO2 exhaled during each breath, capnography can help healthcare providers quickly assess a patient’s ventilation, perfusion, and metabolism to guide decisions regarding their care more efficiently.

WHAT DRIVES OUR PURSUITS IN PROPER CAPNOGRAPHY EDUCATION

"Do It For Drew"

It’s about an Emerald Isle teenage boy, Drew Hughes, whose life was cut way too short, but instead of just grieving this terrible loss, our community chooses to remember and honor his life by living our own lives the way he always did.

Drew was intubated, as a precaution, for transport to a larger hospital. During the transport Drew’s tube was placed in his esophagus instead of his trachea depriving him of oxygen for 30 minutes which caused his death. Properly trained and experienced transport personnel would have recognized the improper intubation and corrected the problem.
